Ron Estrada joined Farmworker Justice in as its Chief Executive Officer. Prior to his role at Farmworker Justice, Ron served Assistant Head of Government Relations and Senior Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility for Univision Communications where he developed and nurtured strong partnerships with community organizations and key local and national stakeholders, including business, non-profit, and government leaders. Alexis Guild joined Farmworker Justice in 2011. In her role as Vice President of Strategy and Programs, she coordinates Farmworker Justice’s policy advocacy and programmatic work and is a member of the leadership team. Alexis co-authored “Out of Sight, Out of Mind: The Implementation and Impact of the Affordable Care Act in U.S. Farmworker Communities” published in the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved (2016); and “The Neighbors Who Feed Us: Farmworkers and Government Policy – Challenges and Solution” published in the Harvard Law and Policy Review (2018). Karin Hong joined Farmworker Justice in 2024 as the Interim Director of Finance & Operations. She has dual expertise both in finance and human resources and more than 15 years experience in the nonprofit sector. In prior roles, Karin has served both as the Interim Chief Financial Officer and as the Director of HR and Operations.
As a consultant, she enjoys helping her non-profit clients improve their finance, HR, and operational processes. Her expertise includes financial reporting, budgeting, grant administration, payroll processing, recruiting, administering benefits, and employee handbook/ policy revisions.
Karin has a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from Georgia State University where she graduated summa cum laude. Karin has a passion for environmental and social justice issues, and takes great pleasure in helping non-profit organizations thrive and fulfill their mission.
Lori J. Johnson, Attorney at Law

Lori Johnson joins Farmworker Justice as the Legal Director/Senior Attorney after teaming with Farmworker Justice beginning in 2023 as a legal consultant. In 1997, Lori served as Legal Aid and then Managing Attorney of North Carolina’s statewide Farmworker Unit (FWU), where she provided high quality representation of farmworkers on employment, health, and immigration-related matters.
From bringing litigation to end a devastating employee blacklist to assisting survivors of human trafficking, Lori has represented farmworkers in many federal and state court cases and administrative claims. She has also engaged in and prioritized a community education program for farmworkers.
A native of Wisconsin, Lori received her BA in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and her JD from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts.

Rebecca joined Farmworker Justice in Washington, DC in 2010 and currently serves as the Director of Programs. Rebecca engages farmworker communities across the country and finds continued inspiration for her work through the stories the farmworkers and their families so willingly share. Through her work in program management and training and curriculum development, Rebecca works with promotores de salud (health outreach workers) on health content areas like pesticide safety, heat stress prevention, and HIV/AIDS awareness to name just a few.
Her work in these areas is steeped in the philosophy of popular education which allows for participants of a wide variety of educational, cultural and linguistic backgrounds to understand and interact with training content in a meaningful and memorable way. Prior to joining Farmworker Justice, Rebecca worked seven years at a language school and bookstore/cafe that catered to after-school projects for kids and literacy projects for women. Rebecca holds a MA in Sustainable Development and Social Justice from the School for International Training and Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and English from Bowdoin College.

Laura joined Farmworker Justice in 2024 as a Project Coordinator. Prior to joining Farmworker Justice, Laura helped develop The Humans Who Feed Us campaign while working with Justice for Migrant Women. She also led the Essential Ohio coalition. Laura became passionate about supporting migrant and low-paid women while working as a tenant advocate in Cincinnati, Ohio. Laura leveraged her cultural background and Spanish language skills to help Latine immigrants secure affordable and safe housing. (more…)
